Terra Plc operates a fully organic farming cycle: compost is made from animal manure and other biodegradable waste such as rose mud, dried leaves and branches, fresh weeds and dried grass, all collected from Terra Farms (18 hectares of land in Debre Birhan and Angolala estates). The company supports livelihoods in these rural areas.
Terra Plc is all about environmentally friendly and socially responsible agro-projects. Since 2012, the company has been cultivating rose oil from the rare "Rosa Damascena", distilling it and exporting it to the German WALA Heilmittel GmbH, the manufacturer of the most popular natural cosmetics brand Dr. Hauschka. The large-scale cultivation of "Rosa Damascena", which is one of the oldest rose varieties in the world, is an important factor for the success. Terra Plc's production has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2013, and with the "Fair for Life" certificate since 2015.
