The female led African brand „Pine Kazi“,which converts pineapple leafs and recycled rubber into fashionable footwear, is the inspiring winner of the first Fashionomics Africa Contest and won $2,000. The shoes are 100% handmade and can last three years, with the aim to reduce carbon footprint. The contest focuses on African fashion companies, uniting innovative and contemporary designs with sustainable impact.
„This is indeed an honor to the Kenyan people and the African continent at large,” said Olivia Okinyi - one of the three female cofounder of Pine Kazi.
